AGA Prayer Alert - Bi-Partisan Press Conference Tomorrow to End Gendercide

Dear AGA Prayer Warriors,

Tomorrow, AGA will be hosting a press conference (see below for details) on Capitol Hill to launch a historic bi-partisan movement to end gendercide worldwide, especially in India and China.  We are thrilled that we will have 4 Members of Congress present, representing both Republicans and Democrats, men and women.  Additionally, two demographic experts will speak on gendercide's implications for American foreign policy, particularly the security threat caused by excess males and the trade imbalance caused by shifting spending patterns, also caused by a surplus of men.

We hope to present a "Declaration to End Gendercide" that all 4 Members would sign, to kick off the coalition to end gendercide.  Please pray that these Members would lay aside their differences for the sake of this united effort to rescue girls around the world!  Pray that many members of the media would be in attendance at the event, to discover more about the consequences of a huge male surplus in China and India, and to help us get the word out about this coalition.

Tomorrow looks to be a very significant day in this movement, but we need the Spirit of God to breathe life into this movement.  We draw inspiration from other Christian-led movements such as the anti-slavery movement, the anti-foot-binding movement, and the civil rights movement.  May the Lord bring justice and mercy for the millions of girls lost to gendercide!

in Christ,

the All Girls Allowed team

to Discuss China's Gender Imbalance as It Affects American National Security and Trade

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Gendercide-the systematic elimination of a particular gender-is more than just a human rights issue, according to recent research. The elimination of girls in China is a matter of American national interest.

In 1979 in China, 106 boys were born for every 100 girls, for an at-birth gender ratio of 106:100. The following year, China implemented its strict One-Child Policy which, combined with traditional preference for boys, has led to selective abortion and abandonment of girls. Today in China, the gender ratio has risen to 120:100 with no sign of dropping and the Chinese government reports that there are 37 million more men than women.

China's military spending continues to rise, at 12.9% per year since 1989. Historical research shows that countries with a large "male youth bulge" such as China have shown increased aggression and violence. Crime rates have nearly doubled in China over the last 20 years and the "bachelor bomb" keeps ticking. In a paper published in February 2011, Columbia University economists argue that the trade deficit is caused by Chinese citizens saving too much. The excess of men--and therefore the drop in marriages--explains the increase in private saving, the drop in consumption, and the current exchange rate.

Join us as we take a stand against gendercide to save girls and to promote global peace and prosperity.
