Prayer Update #37: 4/20/11
Dear AGA Prayer Warriors,
Just over a week left until Easter! We hope and pray that this Lenten season has been marked by God's presence in your life. As we approach Holy Week, may we remember that it is through the cross that Jesus has shown victory over evil!
1) A Town of Child-Brides - When our workers visited a fishing town on the coast of China, they had heard reports that child trafficking was rampant. What they didn't expect, however, was to discover that tens of thousands of child-brides are suspected to have been bought into the town! We praise God that out of those, 20 child-brides stepped forward and asked AGA to help them find their families. Pray for our workers as they labor to reunite these girls, and pray for wisdom as we seek justice for the perpetrators in these towns!
2) New Website Launch - We are ready to launch a new edition of our website next week! Watch for it, as it will feature more easy access to the wealth of articles, videos and stories at our disposal. Pray that we would see an increase in web traffic as a result, and that visitors would choose to stay longer as a result. It is also our prayer that our programs speak more loudly and clearly, leading to an increase in gifts to support our work!
3) Mother's Day Video - Our talented media producer, Valerie, has put together a special video in time for Mother's Day! The story of Li is a deeply compelling one, and we are praying that many would share this with their mothers and support the work of AGA as we bring dignity to mothers in China. Please watch for the announcement of the video and forward along to your friends! Pray that many new people would be touched by the courage of China's mothers, particularly those who choose to keep their baby girls.
4) Advocacy Event in D.C. - Recent research from Harvard and Columbia has shown that the One-Child Policy is not only a human rights concern, but also a matter of national American interest. The AGA team is organizing a luncheon in D.C. for June 1st with the goal of educating our elected officials and the media about the American economic and security implications of the One-Child Policy. Pray that many would be interested in participating, and that Congress and the White House would acknowledge that the One-Child Policy is key to trade balance and worldwide peace!
5) Healing and Protection - Once again, members of our team have experienced strangely coincidental illnesses. We rejoice that the husband of a field worker, who was in a coma because of a car accident, has awaken and is on his way to recovery! Join with us as we lift up our team and our supporters around the world, asking for God's healing and protection over them.
Thank you for your invaluable prayers, which are making a tangible difference as God continues to bring his salvation and redemption to the people of China! The Lord be with you.
in Christ,
the All Girls Allowed team
